Various media outlets are publishing pieces trying to link the recent fall in Tesla Motors stock price with the fall of gasoline prices. TSLA has been down about 22 percent since Thanksgiving.
Today, prices of TSLA are slightly up. So, what is the press saying now? “Tesla Rebounds as Shoppers Look Past Pump Prices“, says. Bloomberg. Or, correlation doesn’t mean causation and the...

Elon Musk said he has no interest in releasing monthly Tesla sales figures. Why? Because “media tends to read all sorts of nonsense into the deliveries.” Well, apparently some in the media will read all sorts of nonsense into his decision to stick with quarterly figures.
The Daily Kanban has published a piece in which in it compares worldwide Model S registrations collated by JATO –...

…but not outside of the laws of physics, according to a story on The Daily Breeze.
“This is not like a Band-Aid on a system that already exists,” said Hodgetts, an architecture and urban design professor. “This is an entirely new, systemic approach to the idea of inter-urban transportation. So it’s not going to play by the rules.”
Craig Hodgetts is the head of SUPRASTUDIO, a partnership...

Everybody knows Musk has a couple 4 dogs around the house (but not even we can find any photos), but as far as animal-driven Teslas go, don’t hold your breath for a cat or a dog. Think goldfish:
“My little chum, Eric the goldfish, has an uncanny sense for what direction to swim or drive,” said Tesla CEO Elon Musk. “I would trust him anywhere.”
Via the Tesla blog “Pet...

Got a magic battery? Want to sell it to Tesla? Simple, says Musk.
“Send us a cell”.
Via InsideEVs, this quote (and more):
Don’t send us PowerPoint, okay, just send us one cell that works with all appropriate caveats, that would be great.

Just chill, anonymous butthurt BMW-insider guy.
As we were saying the other day, some dude at BMW is cranky and claimed Elon was using his employer for PR purposes, citing a mention during a Der Spiegel interview of informal discussions Tesla had held with people from the the German automaker. In response to an article written about the situation by the folks over at Transport Evolved, Tesla spokesperson...

Today, Elon Musk is smiling. Mostly. Consumer Reports, after conferring with 350,000 owners of a variety of cars, found that the Tesla Model S is the most-loved of any vehicle, with a 98 percent score. Ever the perfectionist, Elon is probably slightly disappointed that it wasn’t 100 percent (or higher), but we imagine he’ll get over that pretty quickly and start working to improve those...

In a story found on InsideEVs, we got the response from Musk on releasing sales numbers:
“Um, no. Sorry.”
And some more elaboration, but not much:
“Part of the reason why we don’t release the monthly deliveries number is just because it varies quite a lot by region and the media tends to read all sorts of nonsense into the deliveries.”
… “People assume deliveries are a proxy...

It seems Musk’s mention of a possible collaboration with BMW has ruffled a few Bavarian feathers. While it’s certainly true that there has been a couple confabs between executives of Tesla and its German counterpart, media reports have made more of the meetings than some at the European automaker are comfortable with. A report from Wirtschafts Woche cites an insider who not only plays...
