In a quote couched in a lengthy story on GreenTechMedia touching on almost every point discussed in the last few months that has anything at all to do with Tesla and Musk, and via the awesome Facebook page Elon Musk Quotes, (which we feature with a feed on our lower right column) we saw this gem:
“The battery industry has to have more BS in it than any industry I’ve encountered,” he said. “It’s insane.”
This was in the context of concerns that Tesla was going to get blindsided by a breakthrough in battery technology – suggesting that anything that could be hitting within two years’ time had to be going through testing and evaluation today.
Why does this ring true to us? For one thing, the almost weekly trending stories we see about a new, miracle battery that will solve all the problems the EV industry has, the lack of any testing standards that are available for peer review, and some of Musk’s past comments in interviews: “The bullshit factor is outrageous.”
